LAS RAMBLAS AND GOTHIC QUARTER TOUR
This is another interesting walking tour option in historic Barcelona.
La Rambla,or as it´s also known, Las Ramblas is one of the most visited boulevards of the city; it is a very lively place and a ton of fun.
Starting from the top, we’ll stop at the Canaletas Fountain, with its curious ritual to guarantee you to come back to Barcelona.
Walking further down la Rambla, you will be able to see several interesting buildings from the 19th century, smell and enjoy the Rambla’s flower markets, and, of course, take a tour inside the Boqueria Market, with its live seafood, “Jamon”, fresh fruit juices, and maybe a coffee or a “xuxo” (you’ll have to come to find out what it is!) at the Pinotxo.
The Opera house El Liceo is on the Rambla too, as well as one of Gaudi’s very first projects, the Palau Güell (optional visit inside).
And of course, you’ll wander and discover the melting pot of history, art, and cultures around the Gothic Quarter, with its Roman ruins, gothic buildings, and Jewish heritage, hidden little squares….
