Montserrat Colonia Güell private tour

Not all Gaudí sites are overcrowded; the Colonia Güell is a hidden gem that will surprise you. About half an hour from Barcelona, we arrive at a former town factory that Eusebio Güell and his family owned; Mr. Güell and Mr. Gaudí did many projects together, like the Park Güell and the Palau Güell. So when he moved one of his many factories outside Barcelona, he trusted Gaudí again to build the Church in his new town.

The Crypt is one of the main attractions in Colònia Güell is the Crypt, which was intended to be a church. Gaudí designed this crypt as a prototype for his famous Sagrada Família in Barcelona. It’s a masterpiece of modernist architecture and is often considered more innovative and experimental than its more famous counterpart.

Cultural Heritage: Colònia Güell is not just about architecture; it’s a living testament to Catalonia’s industrial history. The town was built in the late 19th century as a worker’s colony for a textile factory, and it provides insights into the social and economic conditions of the time.

Tranquil Setting: Unlike the bustling city of Barcelona, Colònia Güell offers a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. It’s an ideal place to escape the crowds and noise of the city and enjoy a more relaxed visit.

After we visit the Colonia Güell Crypt, we’ll go towards Montserrat to enjoy some time surrounded by nature, culture, and spirituality.

  • How do I pay for the tour?
    • We use Paypal and SumUp ( you do not need to have an account; you can pay with any credit card). You can pay for the tickets on the same day as the tour.
  • Do I have to buy the tickets?
    • No, we will take care of buying the tickets for you.
  • Where do we meet?
    • The guide and the driver will pick you up at your hotel or apartment.
  • Is it kid-friendly? 
    • A friendly mountain and a small, curious church can be interesting for kids.
  • Do we have Priority access?
    • Yes, we have priority access to both places.
  • I have some mobility issues.
    • Montserrat involves some walking; steps are not an issue. You need to walk a bit uphill and be able to push a wheelchair.

Carolina was our guide to Montserrat and under her exceptionally pleasant guidance, we walked to the top and took the funicular railway down. Best way to start our Trip !!!!

We signed up for the Highlights tour on our first full day in Barcelona and it was the perfect way to start our trip. Carolina was a great and patient guide and she really helped us get our bearings. We saw a few different areas of the city, learned a lot about each neighborhood, and ended up with a great tour of La Sagrada Familia.
